Disclaimer: I am no make-up expert, I just want to share what I know so far about using make ups on a daily basis.
What is "no make-up" make up? This trend is comparable to the "barely there" look. It's when you apply make up but you make it look like it's a part of your skin, au natural. It's when you can obviously say, "bi$h, I woke up like this - like literally like this."
So, when do you usually go for the no make up look? I'd usually go for the "no make up" make up look on weekdays, Sunday to Thursday. Come on, you don't want to go to the office looking like a drag queen, dear. So you use minimal amount of make up.
This stage is quite important, you need to make sure that you do this the night before or right before you apply the make up. This involves a. cleansing, b. toning and c. moisturizing the skin.
I personally don't use the toner and moisturizer right before applying any make up, I do cleanse but that's all I do for fear of irritating the skin by applying too much product. I want my pores sealed when applying make up - you don't want to end up clogging them babies.
Next morning/Make up time:
Once you've made sure that your skin is all prepped up for make up time, you may apply your base (i.e primer, bb cream) or you may opt for just putting on powder - remember you wan't the natural look so don't put too much!
You need to make sure you know your natural flush - the flush is the natural color you see on your cheeks when you just finished running. It's the natural color that pops out. I've read blogs that say it's better if you use a cream based blush because you have more control over the product and the way you apply it. Tried and tested! Again, play with it carefully, don't apply too much.
I personally think that working on the lips to achieve a natural look is the hardest. The right lips color will seal your au natural look. Try using a lighter shade of lipstick and just dab on, do not swipe it right on. Try patting your lips with your finger to blend the color. I usually use lip tints, water based, they just get absorbed really quickly and blend it with the texture of your lips.
You may opt to put on concealer to even out the color of your lid that of your face or you may even use, minimal, eyeliner products.
To achieve the natural look of the brows, I'd suggest not going full on. Just create lines to fill in the half and blend carefully. Again, you don't want to look like you're going to a party when you're after the natural look - it defeats the whole purpose!
Once you're down with the above, you may use a face mist to seal the deal or just leave it as it is - YOU'RE READY!
For any comments, let me know. Hope this works out for everyone!
